Someone could imply you are not a good UConn fan because you are rooting for UConn's rivals and their success can lead to the getting recruits like Silas Demary over us.  This is supposed to be fun. Cheeseburgers are bad for you but people still eat them. You know why? They are awesome! So is college basketball and that includes rooting for your rivals or teams you don't care for to lose. In the age of legal sports betting, telling people who to root for is crazy. This is how it goes for most:
1. Root for your favorite team(UConn)
2. Root for who you bet on
3. Root against who you dislike.

If UConn's future success was tied to how St Johns did in the tourney then I would root like hell for them. It's not so I don't.

I did root for Marquette and Xavier so I am not opposed to rooting for Big East teams. Just certain Big East teams.
