Your last line, "those with less resources are likely to lose", couldn't be more on target The B1G and SEC have it all lined up to take over all sports. Increases in the numbers of scholarships, NIL, and now we have Revenue Sharing. Someone posted a link to an article on the amount of NIL and the likely Revenue Sharing number for all schools and it isn't pretty for the future of "amateur" sports in colleges. Pitino's proving it this year with $3.5 M and I'd guess the success some B1G (maryland?) and SEC schools (MSSt.) I've tried to remain positive about UConn's future, but the rapid takeover of football and now basketball by those two leagues is sobering to say the least. How are the majority of the Big East schools going to compete against the money flowing into those two leagues? Two or three bids will likely be the limit for the Big East in the next 3-5 years. May be even a bigger problem on the women's side. There's UConn and Creighton and...................Remember what UConn's success did for the Big East 35 years ago? The other teams used UConn as a draw for recruiting but that's over. Sure, there might be a kid or two who will want to play for their home school or who know they have no pro future so they stay more local, but all the power will shift to the money schools. Sad to say I've become so negative but maybe there's some positive I'm just not seeing that will turn it around.
