Went to see UConn's first opponent of the 2013 season on Saturday. Seemed like they passed a lot more than they ran tthrough 4 quarters. FG kicker was okay from a out 30 yards out. Not so beyond that. Watched the punter doing side kicks to the corner inside about the opponents 40. Kinda like a coffin kick. Size wise I'd say it's what you'd expect from a D II school. The coolest thing though was the tiger growl that came over the stadium speakers on big plays and 1st downs. Maybe we could have snarling Husky sounds at the Rent. Rob stood behind the O the entire time.

Not D-II... FCS (old 1AA).

Always wanted some Husky noise @ Rent. For example - Barks/Howls at pre-set intervals before game to remind people of approaching kick off (one howl @ 90 minutes, two howls @ 60 minutes, three howls @ 30 minutes. and then a series just before kick-off).

I agree we need to do something b4 the games.I always thought we should have some sort of pre game tradition to tell fans when to wrap up the tailgate as well. I was thinking a few years ago that they should have the bell ( that we really don't ring ) from inside the stadium on a type of flat bed and they could drive up & down the airfield w/ Jonathan on the back leading the charge! Could be cool.... Throw on a few cheersquad chic as well if you like.

FCS...guess I'm still longing for the good old' days.

Miss watching the games from the parking garage (top on good days/one levels down on rainy days)... never missed a kick-off and never had to quit tailgating early to do it.

Saw that Leon is still on the roster but I guess Gerard Shepherd graduated? Four months to go until the season starts. Sigh.
