Tourney - Round 4 | The Boneyard

Tourney - Round 4

Duke up 4 heading into 4 quarter.
Not anymore. Man what a battle.

To me, points off of turnovers was the difference in this game. SC created 19 and got 14 points. Duke created 16 and got 9.

2 point game, biggest possession of the game and your best player in the game and leading scorer Fournier was on the bench, I have zero idea what Kara Lawson's thought process was there. Then she has her team lined up on the FT line when SC was inbounding, Duke put up a great fight but not Lawson's finest moment handling those last 25 secs or so.

Oh @triaddukefan .... I was listening to the game on my phone in a Publix and almost screamed out loud some bad words at the end of the game. :(

When you find out, please let me know. I am baffled by some of the coaching decisions made by Kara in that 4th quarter.

Random observation but watching Day-Wilson jumping in the air to pass over Londyn Jones looks odd to me. I think she's taller than her so it seems unnecessary.

Just noticed that they’re having roucco- lobo for both Spokane E8 games. Pretty sure Pam Ward and Steph White did the Friday Spokane games.

And I presume Birmingham is still split between Lyle/Peck (Birm 2) and mowinsAntonelli (Birm 3)

Ruocco wining about that out of bounds call that went in UCLA's favor, but ignoring that the LSU player torpedoed Rice's legs. Clearly obvious foul that wasn't called.

They clearly need to remove the on ball charge from the women's game. Officials cannot call it properly and continue to reward flops and defensive fouls.

LSU's top portal priority should be finding someone who can nail Gilbert to the bench in every moment that matters.

Can't believe LSU kept it close with UCLA hitting 42% on 20+ threes. If you'd told me that pre-game, I would have expected the Bruins to coast home with a comfortable double digit win.

Confirming that there was more depth this year - 2 close games so far.
Fwiw, Massey has four teams (South Carolina, UConn, Texas, and UCLA) better than 2024's second best team, and eight schools closer to 2025's best than #2 Iowa was to last year's South Carolina. NC State might be nine, depending on the decimals.

Nice win by UCLA. Timea Gardiner earned her full transfer fee for 1 game! 5 for 8 from 3 for 15 points. Jacquez joined in with 4 x 3s and 18 points too. Players of the game for UCLA.

FJ Johnson played a tremendous 4thQ to keep LSU hanging around. Turnovers and offensive boards for the Bruins killed any momentum though.

Betts and Morrow pretty quiet, keeping each other in check.
