Prevent offense. Trying to run out the clock almost the whole second half. Too many carries for McCombs. Wildcat almost costs us a TD. McCombs handful right every first down.

Wow!

Prevent offense!

Deleone is absolutely terrible. He does this team a complete disservice every time he gets out of bed.

Though the strategy technically worked....we essentially DID "clock" Buffalo...we looked terrible in the process. Whitmer threw the ball well and the receivers had good games, so why did we keep running the ball ineffectively?

We played well in the 2nd quarter and early in the 3rd quarter. That is it. After a good 2nd half against WMU, we have lost momentum.

In modern college football, you can not go into the prevent offense as most teams can score points quick.

Wow!

Agree 100%. Awful play calling once we got a lead.

Agree 100%. You put the game out of reach. This is even more true when you are clearly the superior team coming into the game. Had we been beating a powerhouse team, I can understand running clock off. However, against Buffalo, you score and try to score because you can! Our coaching staff flopped miserably today and I am very worried at how next weeks game will be. How bad will we be beat?

If UCONN lost 56-54, would fans be happier? How about winning 57-50? The win would count more than 24-17?

I don't understand that comment. You do understand that buffalo was a 17 point underdog. You make it seem like it was an impressive win. The offense was completely ineffective in the 2nd half, and buffalo put up yards on the defense. Not a good sign going into next week, the rutgers defense is 4 times better than buffalo and their 0ffense has weapons, doesn't look good.

Dude, enough of this horsesh*t. This team barely hung on to beat one of the absolute bottom dwellers in all of college football. What has this coaching staff shown us in the last 17 games to give us any reason to be anything other than angry and disappointed? Tell me one thing, if you can!

I never wrote anything that would imply it was an impressive win. All I care about is the end result of a game. We got the W.

Never really said that you did, but this game, was not impressive. Saying they got the win against a team that they are supposed to beat 10 times out of 10 games is not saying nothing. Seems like buffalo is getting closer to uconn in talent level, cause they looked better today than last year. If the buffalo qb had any accuracy passing the ball this would have been an L. You might be happy, but the majority of fans that watched that second half should be worried

For the first time as a UConn FB fan I feel like we could lose every game for the rest of the season. I have lost every ounce of mojo I had going into this season.

With that said I think we will still win at least 2 more games. But it won't be easy.

By the way....we aren't the only ones who aren't big fans of DeLeone.

This felt like a loss today. My guess RU will be 7-10 point favorites next week. Ughhhh....

Anything we found out about ourselves from a positive standpoint was negated by the fact that we reverted back to negative thinking and almost lost this game. We never build on our success. Not from series to series, quarter to quarter or week to week. It is not encouraging going forward and I'm sure was not lost on the players or most fans. Anyone who's ever played football on any level realizes this is very frustrating, not just for the fans.

Unfortunately we don't have an experienced QB or senior leadership on offense to do what I think needs to be done. Somebody needs to call a meeting and talk to our coaches. I'll repeat what I said in the game thread. The players deserve some input over their own destiny here. There needs to be some changes and some buy-in because we are not moving in the right direction despite adequate talent and effort.

Um, please explain how the DeLeone/PP offensive game plan played a crucial role in putting the game away early against an inferior opponent.

how many times are you gonna run straight up the middle on first down against the box stacked with 9 players? doesn't that mean there is probably a higher probability play than up the middle given their defensive formation? Is this too hard to learn????

Who would you suggest "call a meeting" with the coaches? Without spending 1 second in the locker room how are you able to determine their hasn't been "buy-in"?
