Who is truly the top scorer in college history? BG will most likely end up in second place for points scored by a Baylor player since Suzie Snider scored 3,861 during her college career. I am not sure that I have seen a list including those who played during the AIAW years.

Stiles has the NCAA record. That covers about 30 years. I'm not sure about the early days, though schedules had fewer games. Blazejowski or Woodard may have gotten to 4,000 or so.

Blaze averaged 33.5 and 38.6 in consecutive seasons. Her 52 points at MSG stood as the arena's record at one point.

Not sure if frosh could play during her era.

No one recent would have the ppg record.

Woodard scored 3,649 points in 4 years at Kansas.

She was a 4-time AA and a member of the Globetrotters.

These two--Blaze and Lynette--are on the short list of the best of the best.

Was Donovan a big offensive threat or more of a defensive stopper? I did get to see her play but I was much younger and truly did not grasp the magnitude of her game.

On Suzie Snider from Baylor:

Eppers was chosen by ESPN.com as one of the very best to ever play collegiate basketball in the pre-NCAA era; Snider Eppers played at Baylor from 1973-77 and holds the school record for points and rebounds with 3,861 points and 2,176 rebounds; Her 3,861 career points is believed to be the highest-ever.

I had the privilege of watching her play as far back as her high school years and she was close to unstoppable.

Donovan averaged 20 and 14 for her career. She was a Naismith winner and national champion. She also had 801 blocks. She still holds the ODU single-game record of 50 points. She is a giant, figuratively as well. I believe she overlapped Nancy Lieberman at ODU for one year. Yes, they were very good. National champion, 37-1 good.

Eppers was only credited with 3,137 points by the NCAA folks, citing that WBB was not a varsity sport her first season.

According to the NCAA, pre-1982 records are:

Points - Pearl Moore, Francis Marion (Woodard is 2nd) 3,884
Scoring Average - Blaze, 31.7 (3 year career)
Rebounds - Anne Gregory, Fordham - 1,999, Donovan is 2nd by 23 rebounds

Also, interesting documentation in that section of the record book regarding the various championships.

Nice numbers:

Nearly 4,000 points.

Averaging 31+ for a career.

1 board short of 2,000.

Yikes!
