Source? Also this list is def missing Kentucky, UNC and probably us.
I was going to say, we've seen so many lists of what teams have spent on NIL this season but nobody really knows since it's not public information. Should BYU be on there? What did Michigan spend? There are probably others that are missing from that list.

The following teams spent over $10 million on NIL this year. Reports state that next year the high numbers will be in the $12 to $15 million dollar range.

dook
Michigan State
St John's
Texas
Houston
Arkansas

Interestingly none of the top spending teams made the final four.

Source?

UConn is well over $10M/year, and is maybe in top 20 in spending.

This. Why do people insist on putting up these posts when in fact no one knows what everyone's players are making or what the total being paid or directed by each team is?

I'm at fault of putting another list up. This may be one of the most legitimate articles out there. This feels right.

  • Arkansas
  • BYU
  • Duke
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Louisville
  • Michigan
  • North Carolina
  • St. John's
  • Texas Tech

No mention of AZ anywhere. Could be why Lloyd is rumored to UNC.

Norlander is solid.

This is the quote that matters, and the one that should change with the new rules. "It's not real NIL," one head coach with Final Four experience said, speaking to the obvious. "It's donors just paying out there to get the best team."

I don't think these numbers even reflect "real" NIL, like Solo Ball's Turbo Tax commercial, or the team in the Invesco. Silas has one with Nissan, and Malachi is in a State Farm ad with Sarah Strong. Those aren't "recruiting" NIL, it's the real thing, as intended. To know the actual NIL they'd need access to Instagram payments and other deals they can't see.

Correct. But now we have rev sharing and additional NIL. The additional NIL needs to be approved by the clearing house.

Let's see how quickly these top NIL schools become the recurring top 10.

If Arizone is not on the list because they dont spend enough shouldn't hold too much weight. They clearly fielded a great team worthy of a ring. I dont want the standard to be "well, you'll never keep a coach or really be a consistent program because you're not a top spender" you still need to have a bunch of other things working besides big money......BYU.

Sure, but $$ for most programs is a the key criteria. Lloyd has the one advantage of being the best program out West, so he'd have an advantage getting the Cali & AZ kids.

I've seen lists where St John's isn't even in the top 10.

They are shutting down that whole process. So I don't think it's going to be the same. Boosters can't fund NIL to recruit players under the new rules. Schools can pay Rev Share directly, and kids can earn legitimate NIL, which will be tracked and monitored. So UConn, which has done very well with legitimate NIL, has a leg up. I'm not sure it was done with foresight or not, but those high visibility commercials were perfectly timed, because that's what matters in the coming structure.

Surprised no Mich St

100% recruiting geography is one of the things that still matter. Money always mattered, just in different iterations: coaches salary, facilities, exposure. Culture and coaching, as we see on display now, tend to win out.
I dont think that May, Lloyd, Underwood and Dan Hurley are good because the programs have money and just anybody would succeed there. You need the resources, but without top coaches, which they all are pretty much top ten right now regardless, you aint gonna do squat
