If, at Geno says, Sarah and Jana are only going to get better from here, in other words the BU game was the baseline, I can't imagine how good they will be by March. With that said, the half court set needs work by Geno's own admission, so here are my top 3 things for Sunday:

1) Ice to play a solid, turnover reduced game, getting into the flow of the offense without forcing.

2) Morgan and Allie to make at least 2 three point shots each.

3) Greater fluidity in the half court offense with Paige taking the lead and scoring early, not taking her first shot with 6:36 left in the first quarter.

What are yours?

#1. better hands from our bigs.
#2. our bigs to have quicker, more decisive reactions in the paint.
#3. a better half-court game from everyone.

1. Paige doing "Paige Things".
2. Quality "Big" playing, including all those " little" things.
3. Everyone getting " a little more polished " (timing, passing, full court press, and transition game).

Next week we are at UNC, so the three things I would like to see against USF is:
1- Paige getting at least 25 points to stay sharp
2- Jana, Ice, and Sarah protecting the paint
3- Allie and Morgan getting enough PT to show that we can depend on them in a big game.

1. More of what we saw in the BU game, but with a little more Paige and Allie.

2. A few minutes for Azzi.

3. Better hands for Ice who seems to have a problem catching the ball.

Three things:
  1. Repeat dominant play but from the start and for longer stretches against better and more physical competition;
  2. Better half-court execution, especially with playing with two posts;
  3. Better garbage time play.
Already priced-in:
  • Paige 3.0;
  • Sophomore Leap is real;
  • Sarah and Jana are the real deal;
  • Vaunted UConn runs are back;
  • Kaitlyn and KK are a good lead point guard combo.

1). Fullcourt pressure defense

2). Ice asserting herself on defense and offense.

3). Roughly the same balance of minutes for the players. I think we played 10 players and everyone got 10-30 minutes. Keep that same vibe going.

Let's go, UConn!!

1 our bigs building on the last game

2 every available player getting minutes and being productive with whatever minutes they get

3 Ash doing Ash things :)

Note: I’ve read or heard that our brain really doesn’t process words like don’t or no. Coaching kids in softball I would tell the kids to hit the ball between the pitcher & shortstop basically where we actually wanted them to hit the ball. if you’re telling a kid not to hit to the shortstop they’re going to hit it directly to the shortstop.

I apply that concept when discussing injury.
