With time now to digest both yesterday's feast and the game against the Rebels it's important to first acknowledge certain facts. The win against a very solid and veteran Ole Miss team, by not folding against an onslaught of scoring and rebounding, is the type of victory that promotes character, confidence and comradery. Azzi had to step up, focus and deliver and man did she ever both on offense with key outside shots, back doors and drives and also by playing wicked defense on their best player. who she shut down So going into a game against a Holy Cross team which is 3-2 with a 26 point loss to BC, here are my top 3 things:

1) We need a solid 3rd quarter with a strong start and the foot on the pedal whether it is by the starters or subs. It's dangerous to be complacent.

2) Ash to have a good offensive night, she will get more opportunities against the Crusaders.

3) Azzi and Paige to continue what they do on the floor together. It's a beautiful thing.

So, I would like to know your thoughts. What are your top 3?

1. Azzi playing more minutes than KK, Ashlynn, or Kaitlin.

2. Jana playing more minutes than Ice.

3. Enough of a blowout for some development playing time for Morgan, Allie and Q.

I did watch the Ole Miss replay somewhere on YouTube and that 3rd quarter was scary as he!!. I believe that the quarter started off with a 15-2 Ole Miss run. This should be concerning because Geno has his tradition of using the game's starters to start the 3rd quarter.
I agree that our guys have to start the 3rd quarter of every game as if the score is 0-0. And every one on the floor should be scoring in the first 5 minutes.

( 1 ) The BIGS to act like bigs and control the boards. ( 2 ) ASHLYNN to score 20 points. ( 3 ) AZZI to score 25 points. The rest of the team to play like they have been playing. This is a " gimmie ".

What I'd like to see against Holy Cross:
1. Jana to continue to develop and feel comortable
2. Azzi to start and continue development
3. Time for Morgan, Allie and Q to develp further, wtih an emphasis on scoring:

1. New starting lineup.
2. A full 40 minute performance.
3. Lots of bench minutes. Very little Paige.

I haven't seen either of the last two games so my 3 things list is forward focused. In researching HC for the Prognosticators contest, I'm seeing a lack of height (2 players @ 6'2") and a slew of shorter 5'8"-ish guards. HC has attempted 133 threes through 6 games and hit 48, good for 36%. Given that brief overview, my 3 things are:

1) Ice, Sarah, and Jana dominate the paint with at least 2 of them recording double-doubles. Also team 10+ blocks
2) Our guards shutting down the perimeter and stopping any penetration and holding HC to 30-35% shooting.
3) A scoring differential that allows Allie, Morgan, Q, and Jana play the entirety of the Q4.

34+ points in the first quarter, generated by a suffocating trapping full court press

A 10-0 run or more to start the third quarter (for UConn this time!)

Eight threes or more combined from Azzi and Shade
