Yeah, I buy that explanation with Goestenkors even though yeah..... I think she would be higher paid now if she were doing at Duke right now what she did then. I think in Notre Dame...... it's football, then men's basketball, then women's basketball. I think that's the pecking order of any campus in the ACC or Big 10. Though some campuses could flip the first 2, but I can't imagine women's basketball surpassing those 2 any place in either conferences though. I think one possible explanation for Muffet and Tara being underpaid is that they've been here since the 80s and the schools have gotten used to paying them only that much? In contrast to Jeff, Kim, Dawn, and Vic all emerged after 2000 where their success was met with instant high gratitude, and the ADs knew they had to lock them in right away? Yeah, I think we definitely prefer the women over the men. And I think that's gonna continue. MSU fans are 99% convinced Nikki is the woman, and it sounds like to me they're already in line to drive up those attendance numbers next year after the down year we had this year. The men's team is the pits right now. There's 20 women's threads for every 2 men's threads right now after Vic left. Howland leaving wouldn't generate so much talk, or maybe a quarter (or half) would be quite glad he's gone. I do think it's the nature of the SEC. Fanbases are rabid, sometimes low-brow across most sports, and.... I dunno about you, but it just feels different in the SEC with Tennessee, South Carolina, and Mississippi State and those women's bb fanbases sometimes feel like they're more zealous (or demanding) over the women than the men. Sometimes.... though not all the time.
