A recent article by Tony Massarotti downplaying the UCONN womans basketball team and their 100 game streak is an excellent example of a master troll at work, and the people, like those on this board who bite on his bait and give him exactly what he desires - RECOGNITION. He could care less what you say or believe. The more savage you attack him the happier he becomes as you give him him exposure he would otherwise never receive. If you recall, we experienced this same thing, last year, from another hack sports reporter looking for some national exposure.

The only response to a fool like Massarotti is to ignore him completely. The recent post on this board concerning Massarotti is exactly what he desires. Congratulations for feeding the sports troll - he wins, you lose.

He has his opinion which I don't agree with but that shouldn't stop people from posting their opinions on this topic. I hope he doesn't have a daughter. Personally I don't care for him or Michael Felger which is why I chose not to watch or listen to them.

The dilemma is, how does one convey this message without writing about it and thereby defeating your own purpose?

These guys are looking to increase their ratings through outrageous statements.............I wonder if anybody here has started to listen to this guy because of his UConn comments..........I tend to doubt it...............

No, the right thing is not to ignore him. He denigrated a group of young women who do their best every game. who are role models for young girls all over the country, and they deserve to be applauded. Molly Qerim had it right. You don't even care about the game, so don't all of a sudden start criticizing young people you care nothing about.

I'm going to agree with anything Molly Q. has to say.

You MUST stand up to and discredit these types of people. Just because you are involved, doesn't mean others are. There has to be something for others to read to introduce doubt into their minds that this guy is authentic.

With Mazz, there is little to worry about. He used to be a solid sports writer. Over the past 5+ years, doesn't care about his writing, just wants to get his name mentioned. Every year, more and more of the Boston audience is ignoring him. Within a few years, likely to see his radio and the TV broadcast ratings decline measurably. If they could rate his newsprint rating today, it would be among lowest in Boston metro.
