ND 23-13 over Syracuse only 6 minutes in to the first quarter. Wow...

OSU 37 Texas 25 at half. Maybe I'm too critical of the UConn defense. These Big12 games are track meets.

Until a minute ago 1-3 Iowa St had a two TD lead on Baylor. Today could end up being the B-12's biggest nightmare.

Rutgers is getting ripped a new one by OSU; down 58-0 early in the 4th. Someone should tell Rutgers they're not an FCS school.

E Car 1st down on the 2 yard line. 4 plays. Do not score. It is not just Uconn.

Iowa State imploding on both sides. Setting up Baylor for a final drive.

I'm watching the Navy- game, and runs an even more confusing option than Navy! It almost looks like a quadruple option at times.

Also, UMASS up on Tulane 14-10. Interesting to see what Whipple and Foley do up there. I used to really hate that team, but they no longer make me feel anything at all about them...

I really miss Foley. We had such a nice thing going with our offensive line play. Instead of following the theory "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" P/GDL decided we needed an improvement in our blocking approach.

UMASS had a running back go for 125 yards against Mississippi State last week. Foley is already working his magic against SEC defenses...

About a decade ago I was told by someone who would have a good perspective on things* that Foley was as good as anyone he had ever seen at teaching blocking fundamentals. Granted, a lot of what our lines did wasn't modern or sexy enough for many of today's coaches (who seem to prefer a zone scheme to putting a body on a body) and our pass blocking was never anything special, it is a good feeling to watch an offensive line knock the defense off the line of scrimmage when everyone knows you are going to run the ball.

* The person who told me played (lower level) D-1 football as an offensive linemen in the mid 1970's, worked as a HS teacher since but spent quite a bit of that time as an offensive line coach for the school (which was located in a football hotbed in a mid-atlantic state). That comment coming from him carries a bit of weight.

Then...let's get him back!

I was told by many on the board to shut my trap about Foley because Cummings had coached Eric Fisher. Since then, I've felt like having a 1,000 yard rusher is a near impossibility...

I know most people today love spread offenses with a lot of short and intermediate passing with final scores that rival college basketball games before the three point shot. To me few things get me more excited than repeatedly pushing a defense around. Russ Grimm said "there is no greater feeling than moving a man from point A to point B against his will". That may well be true but the feeling is pretty great if you are watching your team do this and there are few worse feelings than watching it done to your team.

Indiana trying hard not to beat Michigan State. Going for it on 4th down is one thing but having your RB throw the ball is another.

Richard Lagow just made a nice touchdown catch. That's right, folks. That Richard Lagow. And that's right; a touchdown catch. A little trickery by the Indiana offense.

I'm rooting for the kid. Not sure if that is the popular opinion on the board, but I'm rooting for him...

Well you got your wish. Another nice drive and this time they finish with a TD pass from Lagow. 14-14 Really should be winning but both teams have had chances.
