Having said that, there are no other programs that come anywhere close to the historical pedigree of UCONN and Tennessee. No other coach has achieved anything close to what Geno and Pat achieved. No other regular season basketball game in the history of the sport had the hype or importance of the 22 games the 2 teams played. And in fairness, Tennessee has recruited well lately and will likely percolate around the top 10-15 with possible upside for the next several years. I wish we did not renew the series.
