probably zero. I know she went 0-10 or something from the field. not sure if or how many FT's she made.
But that's not very fair to Jayne. Senior year, Jayne was basically a shadow of her former self from the season before, when she was SPECTACULAR. But first it was the knee surgery over the summer before her senior year, which forced her to sit out USA Basketball. Then she hurt her ankle in early March her senior year and actually was on crutches for a game against Cal and did not play. Then she injured herself further w/ "stress fracture of the distal cuboid, a bone on the outside of her right foot, the same foot that was sprained" in the NCAA first round. After that game, she "wore a boot on her injured foot" and "did not practice at all since the injury." I'm not saying Stanford would have won if Appel was healthy, but I definitely don't think her performances senior year should be looked out without considering her injuries.
There's no doubt that Tina has distanced herself FAR above her former "rival" (and good friend) Jayne Appel since 2010 to the present. But they were definitely a fun battle to watch in college when both were in top form. And Jayne was simply far from being in top form during the championship game.
I actually hold Tara responsible a bit. Stanford had a backup center, Sara Boothe 6'5", top 40 player out of HS, not amazing but not horrible either. Sara Boothe was injured at the start of the season, and the plan was to redshirt her. This was a HUGE mistake, because Boothe had recovered toward the later parts of the season, and could have been utilized to give Appel time to heal and recover. But Tara said (paraphrasing) "it was so late into the season, I didn't want to burn Boothe's redshirt year by that point" or something like that.
The irony? Boothe ultimately decided not to utilize her 5th year of eligibility anyway.
