Yes, she's been doing this for years now and it is great that we and the world hear of it again and again. Tina is an amazing person of commitment and purpose.

The story of this particular person who benefited - had his life saved - is both amazing and maddening: How long do you have to wait to get the results of what are now routine diagnostic tests? Not that long. Not two hours either. Our wonderously expensive medical system - and I use that term loosely, the "system" part, is broken. We spend the most yet are far down the line on civilized nation health care quality.

That is a phenomenal story. What an incredible young woman she must be. This man, whose life was saved, he must have big things left to do in this world. All my best to the both of them.
+1000.
Sort of jaw-dropping incredible. Tina for queen of the world.
Thanks so much, Danny, for posting this amazing story. This are somewhat brutal times, and when you read something like this, it still gives you great hope for all of us.

Her whole WNBA salary? Wow. Now that's commitment.

And it was all worth it to save this one mans life! I am sure that Tina can sleep well knowing that her amazing generosity, leadership, and unselfishness led to the saving of this mans precious life. I am also quite sure that with every passing birthday, holiday, or other special event, that Mr. Carlson's family and friends will be reminded of the amazing work by Tina. Bravo Tina Charles!!!!

I think a lot depends on the physician and the type of test. I had the results of my last EKG/ECG within a half hour of returning home from the hospital.

With all the lousy upsetting news, killings, floods, missiles, robberies, etc. it sure pleases THIS soul to read something positive, & joy, to make my day better!

I have known about Tina's initiative for years but this is the first time I've heard that it actually saved a life. What a great story.

Thanks Danny for posting the original story and thanks vtcwbuff for posting the follow up with a great picture of the two of them hugging.

About ten years ago, our high school purchased AED's. Two weeks after they were installed, the basketball coach of the visiting boy's team had a heart attack. The AED in the gym most likely saved his life.

Kudos to Tina for supporting this cause.
