James McAdoo was going to be a lottery pick after his freshman year. He leaves a year early and goes undrafted! A few other players who did not get drafted.
Kilpatrick, Kane, Cotton, Young, our own NG. They should all get invited to play in the NBA summer league. Hopefully NG does well and signs on as a free agent.

Birch and Smith from UNLV, Wilbekin , Pratt and Young from Fla. , Fair,. KO can tell recruits that if you go to UCONN you get better and get drafted!

I should think Patric Young will find a spot in the NBA, no?

Everyone knew this was a stacked draft. If you didn't have to go this year and you didn't have a guarantee why in the world would you leave early?

McAdoo was never going to be a lottery pick. Smart purportedly hurt himself by coming back but was still picked 6th which likely isn't much different than where he would have gone in 2013. There is too much myth of guys falling by staying in school. It is ludicrous that where a guy was projected to be drafted in one or two articles is seen to trump where a guy is actually drafted.

The point is he dropped significantly. Top 5 high school recruit, MacD AA, MVP at McD game, pre season AA after his freshman year. Several services had him as a lottery pick. He just never got better at UNC.

Yeah, that may be right - we just don't know. Its more likely that he dropped because as you said he didn't get better and that's due to not working hard etc... He assumed the elevator was good enough.

Reality is that it helps some guys and not others. Each situation is different. It helped Shabazz tremendously. Think where he might have been drafted without the tournament and all that hype. He probably wouldn't have been on LeBron or Riley's radar.

I just don't think there's a formula.
