It had been trying times for our young Husky pups,
without hallowed Bazz and a new season coming up.
Our stretch four in Australia, chasing kangaroos,
our glue guy and stopper voyaged overseas too.

Coming out of the gate our pups struggled in their fight.
"These kids aren't Ferraris," we said, "Why couldn't Coach get it right?"
Daggers at the buzzer dampened our spirits,
any hope of a comeback? Some 'Yarders wouldn't hear it.

Any dreams of sleeping through the conference disappeared
when youth and inexperience seemed to be as strong as we feared.
Playing directional schools left us biting our nails
and dreaming of valiant Sir Kemba's travails.

"Woe is us, trapped in the conference from hell!
This team has no balls, even with the son of Sam Cassell!"
Some wins piled up, but we weren't impressed.
Very little made us think our Huskies could pass the test.

A win over the 'Stangs would surely take us out of the dregs!
But alas, the next two contests? Our pups laid eggs.
"Our center is a dud! Our shooters are hacks!
Master Boatright can't put the whole team on his back!"

The conference tourney set up shop in our fair city,
hosted by a team whose style was far from pretty.
Without momentum coming in, no more than blind faith,
all of a sudden, a most unlikely voice sayeth...

"Thus Barketh Jonathan, the spirit of this team
the canine who embodies the faithful's hopes and dreams!
I climb on the roof of Gampel to dutifully shout
that in March, a Husky cannot be counted out!

When the Bulls come up from Tampa, we will run with them and more.
Let Nolan slam the boards down, and watch young Daniel score.
No matter if they look flat, the fire is there inside,
for each Husky pup knows the strength of UCONN pride.

The beasts from Ohio come, prepared to put up a fight.
But fearless Boat, ice in his veins, will set the city alight!
Slaying the fearsome Bearcat, slashing right between the eyes,
this team was owed a game-winner; it was written in the skies.

Our pups may be gassed, spent, and primed for defeat,
but when the Golden Hurricane comes, they will NOT lay at their feat.
Even when the good guys look all but defeated,
Boat and Purvis made sure that the Tulsans retreated.

The final battle comes tomorrow, and the Ponies are prepared
to shoot, pass, and rumble for boards; anyone else would be scared.
But all I'll say is this; I believe in our pups of course,
because every time, a hungry Husky will destroy a duck*ing horse."

Figured I would try my best to make a small contribution to the mojo. I'm amped up for tomorrow - let's do this.
