Ladies and gentleman, we have talent. If Alterique can figure out how to play point and cut out the bad shots and crashing into the lane, the talent is there to be a tournament team. My biggest takeaway is Hurley and staff are really developing guys. Adams was special tonight, to be thrown in there to play point for most of the game and to respond like that is big time. He can shoot and he made the most timely plays all night. Just a great game from him and his improvement from last year is night and day... Bouknight is a big time talent, an NBA player in the future. Same for Akok, NBA. Bouk needs to be given the ball a ton on offense, he'll score off the bounce and off the catch. He's a scorer at all three levels. Akok is oozing with talent on both sides of the court. Need to draw up more for both of them and the alley oop needs to be in the arsenal as much ss possible... Vital made a few errors but he's grown a lot, another good gritty game from him. He makes you scratch your head less than he used to and is making winning plays. Josh drives me nuts but he should be able to score a lot in the post. It's gonna be all about positioning for him, he needs to seal his man better and go up strong. It was an adventure with all the turnovers and bobbles but he made several big plays down the stretch...Gaffney is good, we will see it more as he is rounding into full health and gaining confidence after missing time. He's going to be really good just have to wait a little as he rounds into form. Adams and Gaffney sent a message that if Alterique doesn't start figuring things out he will be taken out of the game. A work in progress and too sloppy but they made winning plays whenever Buffalo got too close for comfort. There will be some lumps but I feel good about this team and feel really good about the direction of this program. We're a lot better than last year, it's all about growing from here on out.
