Every time they were in a position to make a statement, they lost. Yep, we had a couple good victories but more often we let opportunities slip away or just plain collapsed.

So, here comes Cinny. One and done situation. The season on the line. Neutral court. It's one last test. Win it and win a chance to redeem everything. Win it and it affects not only this season but next.

Would love to see them rise to the occasion. I will be in their corner in my tiny part of the universe. They are physically and mentally capable of defeating Cinny. They just have to do it.

They are 2-4 against the top 50 teams and something like 4-6 vs teams 51-100.

They are the only team under at large consideration with a losing record vs the top 100. The lack of a 100+ loss is the only thing keeping them on the bubble. The worst loss is Houston at 74. The best won that isn't SMU or Texas? Tulsa at 54.

Not a good resume.

This has been an especially frustrating year to play the "what-if" game. What if they don't blow leads against Temple and Cincy? What if they beat Houston at home like they should have? What if they completed the comebacks vs. Syracuse and Gonzaga? Outside of SMU, Maryland and half of the Tulsa game - this team has been so awfully close to this board not creating an "Ollie/Gibbs/Brimah Sucks" thread every couple hours. They are probably a handful of minutes away from possibly being 26-5 or 28-3.

So here we are, hoping and praying that this time they get it together. Maybe a little "single elimination" mentality will be what helps this group out.

Wichita State is 4-7 vs. top 100 and Lunardi considers them a lock.

I don't think WSU should be in. We have a better resume.

Not sure where you're coming up with this. It's not remotely true.

Wichita State was 3-4 without Van Fleet. That helps them, but most of those games were their only top opponents.

They're a difficult team to evaluate.

I love UCONN in single elimination games. Love them.

But this team scares the out of me.

Do you just make things up and think people will believe it? Michigan is 3-11 v. the top 100. Butler has a losing record v. the top 100. So does VCU. I can go on and on if you would like.

NCAA/Bubble Teams under .500 vs. RPI Top 100

Texas Tech: 8-10
Baylor: 9-10
Colorado: 9-10
St. Joe's: 5-6
Notre Dame: 7-10
Cincy: 7-8
VCU: 6-7
San Diego State: 4-7
Butler: 6-8
Wichita State: 4-7
Vandy: 7-10
Florida: 7-12
UConn: 6-10
Temple: 7-8
Syracuse: 8-9
George Washington: 4-6
Gonzaga: 3-7
Michigan: 3-11

And that's probably the bubble. Michigan, Ohio State, and Georgetown us. Also, Tulsa is sitting at 51, so they can jump back in and make us 7-11.

The poor, poor soul who will be sitting next to me on my flight Friday as our tournament hopes are decided while we are in air. Can someone confirm that all Jetblue flights have TV's, otherwise I could be screwed.
