For young, up and coming assistant coaches who wanted to get their feet wet in a lower level conference (and back in 2011 we were still a BCS league) before moving onto a better job. Sorta like Cincinnati. I'll gladly take an Edsall going 7-5 and making bowl games for 4 straight years before he moves onto his "dream job".

Instead we hired an old, washed up, coach who wasn't a head college coach for 7 years, and had minimal to no success in his final 5 years at his previous job.

How was this allowed to happen? I know Burton threw a fit after the fact. But there should have been more push back. Anyone could see what was going to happen. The "Boosters" should have raised hell. Do we even have "boosters"? Do they care?
