2015 was a strange year for Texas. They started the season 13-0, including wins over Stanford (who had just beaten UConn) and Tennessee (then a top-5 team) and climbed to #3 in the AP poll. Then they lost tough road games at Iowa State and Oklahoma, and then in the game at Baylor lost their best player, Nneka Enemkpali, to an ACL injury. That really sent them reeling, and they ended up losing 8 out of 10 games in that stretch.
They finally righted the ship down the stretch, winning 7 of their last 9 games heading into the NCAAs. As a #5 seed, they won a close 2nd round game at #4 Cal to earn the privilege of a trip to Albany.
