Following the bball coach no-degree story, I'm trying to put together a list of all of people/groups that have fallen flat on their face more than RU in the past few months. So far......

1. Toddlers
2. Drunk Lindsay Lohan
3. Sober Lindsay Lohan
4. Rutgers Athletic Department
5. Reece Witherspoon (once, but it was good)

thoughts?

Falling on our face all the way to the bank as we make as much money in a year as the entire AAC does :)

Omelets.
Soufflés.
Matzoh.
Jim Kelly in the Super Bowl

This thread is embarrassing. We're in no position to make fun of Rutgers considering the way things have panned out in conference realignment.

Hmmmm, so since we pretty much got the worst draw in conference realignment, your logic suggests that we are not allowed to make fun of any schools for anything. Gotcha.

Might pay it all back in legal fees and settlements.

In terms of making fun of a team for "falling flat on their face" recently, correct.

We haven't had any CR issues recently. UL got into the ACC 6 months ago.

Um, the fact that we got passed over from the ACC twice and are still stuck in this crap conference is an issue. Are you delusional?

And because of this we can't joke or poke fun at any other schools?

Lighten up.

LOL thanks. Don't think he was getting it.

How many phone calls do you think Delaney got asking "What were you thinking??? Rutgers???"

Unfortunately, how many times does he just respond with the sound of a cash register sounding "cha-ching" and saying, "NYC Market baby! Enough said."

Whether it works out that way in the end is a gamble that we'll see about in 4-5 years. Unfortunately, adding us would have caused the same risk and questions similar to the one you posed in your post.

Only in college sports can a fan feel comfortable about bragging about his school's, location, TV ratings, and conference revenue while completely ignoring the fact that the teams this fan roots for have for the most part been terrible (with football and women's basketball being the only exceptions of having decent seasons from time-to-time) with the administration also being a complete laughing stock in recent weeks. They are basically like the Cubs of college sports. And they are better off long term than a school that has more trophies and championships than they can count over the past 25 years.

It literally makes me sick to my stomach, and has caused me to loose faith in college sports and decreased my enjoyment in watching them. The actual on-field results basically mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. This Rutgers to the B1G thing was the final nail in the coffin to me. It makes no sense from a pure college sports angle.

These conferences and the NCAA also get treated the same way as a charity for tax purposes, grouped in as a "not-for-profit". It's disgusting.
