While I'm getting chills in the 50 degree weather here in Vegas. One of the reasons I settled down here is because I grew up in Indiana and served 20 of my 24 years in cold winter climates.

It took me about 3 years to understand why the locals wore puffer coats to Padres night games.

I remember a funny story about Diana Taurasi coming to Connecticut (paraphrased as best I remember):

A California reporter in recruiting season, perhaps trying to influence her to go to a CA school:
"You know it's freezing there in the winter?" Diana: "They sell coats there, don't they?"

After she arrived, Morgan Valley said: "I've lived my whole life in Vermont and I own one winter coat. Diana came here with two, and she's bought three more since she got here."

I’ve visited my LA son in Dec. and Jan and had days in the low 30s. I‘ve seen snow peaks not far from Palm Springs in the spring. It happens. Isn’t Morgan from more northerly CA anyway?
