39-27 GT

Georgia Tech looks like a team that should be ranked. The pretty fun to watch!

Maryland isn't a bad team. At all. But. The Terps can NOT handle the GT pressure.

Couldn't agree more. They were ranked earlier in the season, when Rutgers beat them.

Context, my scarlette friend. While it is true that thet were ranked when RU beat them, they were ranked 25 and just entered the coaches poll that week. They were never in the AP poll and have not been in the coaches poll since that loss.

They were ranked 25 ONE week in ONE poll....lol. Ok...enough piling on by me! I am a jersey boy in years past!

What I find amazing is that Maryland held GT to 45 points in the first half while RU held them to 40 FOR THE GAME!

Good ole Maryland defense...nonexistent. Not to take anything away from RU's defense. Always top notch.

Down year for WBB. If Baylor doesn't take it all this year, they're not going to.

Every power conference is down from a year ago (except maybe the SEC which was horrible and is now bad).

Here comes Maryland!!!!! 57-47. Alyssa Thomas is playing like an AA!

GT is letting them back in the game again.

See, Im just not sure there down. I'm thinking this might be where WCBB is turning the tide in the parity pool.

I'm at the game. MD has no defense, and they think sheer athleticism is an offense. Alyssa Thomas is trying to bring them back single- handed, but they have dug a hole.

GT defense is "swarm"; very effective when they trap the ball, less so when they leave someone wide open under the basket. Their offense borrows from Tenn's school of jack it up there and rebound for layups.

57-47 GT, 14 to go.

I think a bunch of teams are young and inexperienced. Look at the top eight seeds from last year:

UConn
Baylor
Stanford
Tennessee
Notre Dame
Duke
Texas A&M
Xavier

Most of those teams lost key players from last year or are at least are transitioning in new players. And the teams that have made a little noise like Kentucky and Maryland just aren't inspiring me.

When you look at who's coming to UConn in the fall, I don't think we'll see much parity, at least not at the top. And a lot of those other Top 8 teams from last year will be stronger too (especially A&M, Stanford, and Duke), with Maryland, Rutgers, and a couple others being better in the next cople of seasons than they are now.

As good as we are going to be.....I cant help but think Duke will be in that top mix. They start sophomores and freshman. They will get better.

I just hope that there is more parity as the womens game moves forward. It makes the games so much more exciting.

This game is so much fun to watch! Back and forth they go!

Georgia Tech by 4 68-64

Terps just can't get stops. Their defense just sucks.

Nice comeback by MD... they kept their composure where GT didn't.

It helps that Maryland only missed one free throw. With something like 1.7 seconds left in the game.

.-.
The ACC race might be interesting after all. I left our game tonight thinking that the conference title would undoubtedly be MD's. There is a little doubt now.

Not sure about Miami, but Duke should compete with Maryland.

Maryland could not stop dribble penetration by Delaware. They defended EDD fairly well, but otherwise, it looked like matador defense.
