One of those thoroughly annoying slideshow features with a million too many ads is called WNBA Players that Should Have Been Models, and I know that there are a lot of posters that feel that women's BB players shouldn't be playing off physical attractions to make some extra bucks. But whatever. of the 17 WNBA players mentioned, 5 come from Geno's model basketball program -- Renee, Maya, Ashja, Sue, and Swin. Obviously there's a bunch more Huskies that some of us would be glad to nominate as players with great smiles and styles.

And obviously the authors of the post never saw Sveta modeling the Russian flag.

I thought there was a Boneyard rule against referencing a picture like this without a link to it? :p
I assume Dobbs is referring to this one...

Well yeah, of course. Ain't no other is there? But if there are, please post.

And Sveta has others such as the slightly more risque one below, but for sheer brazen cheek, none of the Huskies can beat Swin. And sorry mr006, but I'm reasonably sure that Swin's big hitters are too much for BY sensibilities.

Well for efficiency purposes we could reduce the number of posted pictures and combine the two like this:

RÚSSIA_14_SVETLANA_ABROSIMOVA_SENSUAL_flag.jpg

..but in this case, "efficiency" to reduce picture volume may not be desired.

I think Ann Strother has a model face and body. Although she does not play in WNBA.
I believe she was a model for 2-3 years after retiring from WNBA.

I agree. Any pictures extant?

I'm only reading this post for information- nothing else. But I remember a player from the earliest of years who was indeed a model. She played the 5 and was rather lanky. I vaguely recalled that the coaching staff wanted her to spend more time in the weight room, but she or her mother objected to a body with muscles- not good for a modelling career. I doubt it was Kearns. I'm almost sure it was before the Program took off for better times.

Come to think of it, it's unfair not to have a Swin pic here, one where she's at least wearing more than a basketball. With her it seems to be all or nothing, not that's there's nothing wrong with nothing, mind you.

Still not sure why Sports Illustrated has never put out a Swin-suit Issue. With her smile, she has it all over the usual faces (and bodies) they trot out.

Then there was the Sue Bird venture. (still not sure what they were trying to do here)

Pardon me while I pick up my jaw . . .

I guess intimidate opponents by planting a seed in their heads that they could be turned to stone.

Pardon me if this is getting nasty, but I do remember that the jaw of the coach of the Huskies' main rival 10 or so years ago did turn to stone and after 2008 the team's prospects were deep Sixers-ed. May be a connection.
