Apart from the standard problems with the incredible amount of injuries our Huskies have faced, which may have contributed to our 2 losses, is the hidden effect it has on our players individual stats, which count for AA and POY. Azzi went out in the ND game, and her average scoring per game dropped by 4 pts. Nika went out early in a game, and her assists per game dropped because of it. And now tonight, with Edwards working her way to an AA season, her points and rebounds per game will suffer a lot by having to sit out almost 3/4 of the game. Not that individual stats are anywhere near the most important thing that the team, coaching staff, or most importantly, the Boneyarders care about, but we all want our players to get well deserved individual honors.... Better they are out before a game starts, then during one. Of course, better they are never hurt and out!

Over the course of a full season, those early exits shouldn't affect their numbers too much. Muhl is still #1 in assists by a wide margin even if she missed out on 4-5 assists in a game. Edwards will still be on everyone's radar even if she had poor stats tonight due to injury. Stats are far from the end all be all when awards season comes.

The bigger question IMO is will someone like Fudd being eligible for awards considering the number of games she's missed. I don't know if there are minimums for a player to be in All America consideration for basketball, but I know in volleyball the cut off is missing more than a 1/3 of your teams sets.

This is an awful thread. I guarantee you no one cares about how their injury will affect their stats…
