I was at the game yesterday and I go to 1 or 2 BC games per year. The BC fans I was with wanted to tailgate and they didn't want to go into the game as they feared the outcome. 4 out of 5 Boston Globe sportswriters picked UConn to win so losing was not unexpected. One of the BC fans said before the game it would be a miracle if BC won and I said what has the world come to if BC needs a miracle to beat UConn? I think what we are seeing this year is that, for the most part, the offense returned most of the players from last year with a couple of newbies. With an experienced QB, the offense is humming and this might be the best UConn offense that I can remember. On defense, it was almost a complete turnover and it showed at the beginning of the season, but they have gotten better. A LB has stepped up, Parham, as the season has progressed just like McDonald did last year. BC's DB group has been decimated with transfers and injuries and UConn receivers were running wide open all game so UConn took advantage. Credit the game plan and Joe F for seeing all the wide open receivers. BC's OL was hit by injuries and BC decided to bench their starting QB. At the start of the game, it looked like BC could run at ease against UConn's D, but they had difficulty maintaining the pocket and UConn had 7 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss. The run D improved in the 2nd half. Overall, a very satisfying win!
