With Drummond likely to leave--it left Alex with 35+ minutes a night unencumbered as the starting 5. We couldve played 4-1 --I mean if Alex was going to go to the pros--it was all set up for him here. No reason why he could not go back to the drawing board this summer--train hard and be the guy in the middle for us. I have to think his regression from rebounding mightve been sharing the position. Now we wont know and I think Alex is doing a disservice to himself looking for more PT at another venue.

Could Alex have known something we don't about Drummond?

This was my first thought as well. Wishful thinking but given the quotes we've seen from AD in the past about coming back it seems more plausible than it might otherwise.

Anyone think AO goes to Hofstra to reunite with Jamal Coombs-McDaniel?

Wouldn't you love to be in a fox hole with AO, when the going got tough he takes off.

I don't think it's fair to slam Alex. The guy was a stud last year. But I guess it's a what have you done for me lately mentality.

Alex is getting a ton of flack because of what his father tweeted and said. If Alex had been the only one to comment and had said just what he said, he would be getting a lot less. He didn't have a great year this year but I think most fans would welcome him back in a heartbeat if not for things his father has said.

I also wouldn't go as far as to call Alex a stud last year. He was a stud in probably a quarter of the games last year, decent for half and pretty bad in the other quarter. The expectation was that he would have fewer bad games this year and more great games. I'm not sure if he had any great games this year and he had many, many more poor games.

His father tweeting Calhoun has a "slave master mentality" is not something fans are going to take well. Even if you think Calhoun is scum and a harsh coach, to say he has a "slave master mentality" goes beyond the scope of reason and is extremely overly-charged. To be fair it wasn't 100% clear it was about Calhoun, but it can be more than inferred it was about him. I think there are quite a few millionaires out there who would disagree with that sentiment.

I like AO and I think he has handled this situation in a decent way but unfortunately his father has not let AO handle it. I wish his father has kept his mouth shut and AO had waited until the NCAA had ruled to make any statement to the press, even if he looked into.

Not sure on their scholly situation, but Missouri makes sense to play with Phil Pressey. After Norfolk St loss they will definitely be looking for bigs.

He would get a lot of touches there.

They lose: Denmon, English and Moore.

They have Phil Pressey and Michael Dixon back and Jabari Brown transferring in. Not sure on Ratliffe and Matt Pressey, both seniors but not sure if they have a fifth year.

They also have a huge class coming in of 6 guys at least (Per Rivals, and not 1 in the top 100), there is a 7th that is committed but not signed. So that's at least 9 scholarships gone but as many as 12. So they might have room for him. That is also a very young team unless Ratliffe and M. Pressey are also back.

If Ratliffe is gone, Oriakhi could step into his spot.

Agree. By the way DeMauro at the Courant says in today's chat that Oriaki's dad recanted this comment, somewhat, by stating that he was referring to "other coaches" and not Calhoun. Sounds like damage control to me. Dom says that he'll write or blog about the email exchange.

It's crazy in here today! Like someone got shot and you're all looking for the killer!
Yeah....it's like the uMess board for the last 15 years...except with Big East Championships, Final Fours and National Championships.

Even if it was about other coaches, he has to know it will be construed that he is tweeting about Calhoun considering his son is leaving UConn and all.

On the bright side, if AO transfers to URI, he can meet up with Lamar Odom who can introduce him to the Kardashians.

When AO committed as aHS soph, Tom Moore was his chief recruiter. When asked if he would still attend UConn if JC retired, both AO & his father said only if Tom Moore was appointed HC.
AO gets along with Moore. Moore is far less volatile as a coach than JC is. And Quinnipiac just might be the right level for AO to complete his remaining year.

Ugly, but with final 4's and National championships in our background.
If AO goes to UMess perhaps he can take up Dougie' Wiggins house break in's. Or, perhaps Marcus Cox pot smoking. Either way, if it's UMess it's all downhill.

I don't think AO falls into those categories and I don't think he'll end up at Umass.
Your right on AO's character. Plus he is a 3.6 GPA student.
Just returning the zing.
Where and who is your next opponent.
