- High expectations
- Team handles adversity
- Makes it to the NCAA tournament and falls to Iowa State in the first round.

- Players declare for the NBA
- Players transfer schools
- Jim Calhoun retires
- UConn is not invited to a major conference
- UConn is also told it will no longer be in the Big East for the 2013-2014 season.
- People think the success of UConn is over....

- Kevin Ollie is hired as interim coach
- Fans are told to hang in there, and that we'll have to take it one step at a time
- Kevin Ollie is hired as full-time coach
- Kevin Ollie finishes with 20 wins.
- At this point, fans like Kevin Ollie, but are still hesitant about the program's future.
- Napier staying seems questionable.
- Napier eventually decides to return for senior season.

2013-2014
- UConn is placed in the pre-season top 25, but is doubted by many
- UConn wins the 2K classic at Madison Square Garden
- Loses to SMU and Houston back-to-back.
- UConn is doubted even more and drops out of the top-25
- Starts to defeat ranked teams and gain more national respect
- Loses to Louisville twice in regular season
- Makes it to the AAC championship game, and loses to Louisville for a third time.
- Once again, UConn is doubted.
- UConn is a 7 seed coming from a conference called the "American Athletic".
- UConn takes down #10 St. Joe's, the A-10 Tournament Champion
- UConn takes down #2 Villanova, the Big East Season Champion
- UConn takes down #3 Iowa State, the Big-12 Tournament Champion
- UConn takes down #4 Michigan State, the Big Ten Tournament Champion and title favorite.

Today
- The American Athletic team, who 1 year ago had; players transfer, players leave to go to the NBA, no head coach, and no conference is now headed to the 2014 NCAA Final Four to play in front of 100,000 fans at Cowboy Stadium. While Syracuse, Duke, Louisville, Villanova, North Carolina, Kansas, Michigan State, Michigan and Arizona are at home sitting on their thumbs, we're still playing basketball. What a story.

Once again, we've shocked the world.

We had two NBA lottery picks in 2012. For many college teams that would be the highlight of their last 25 years. It was a disappointment for us.
