Any team can win on any given night if they make more than 50% of their threes. We caught one of those teams and so did Kentucky. NMSU and St. Peter’s can just as easily shoot 3-20 from three tomorrow and get crushed.

I think the real reason is the introduction of the First Four. It effectively moved the at larges back two spots in the S-curve from where they should be giving the top seeded teams a slightly more difficult team in the first round than prior to 2011.
