It's not the AAC it's not the new refs it's not ESPN trying to pump up the new members of a dismal conference it's much simpler than that. Yukon a powerhouse basketball school for nearly 2 decades should easily overcome all of that.
Why is it so hard for the bone yarders to understand the simple truth. A nationally acclaimed basketball program with a retiring Hall of Fame coach decides to hire a new coach with zero head-coaching experience. Look at the history of the NCAA - it has never worked. WM was simply bamboozled and manipulated by an egotistical Coach Calhoun who wouldn't be able to stomach a real coach coming in to take over his program and continuing to have success. So he fabricates an illusion that one of his ex-players who never coached a game in his life should be the heir apparent. Uconn could have hired virtually any coach in the NCAA barring a few, but instead settled just so the outgoing coach could stroke his own ego. He has ensured that he will be the only winning coach in Uconn history and in in the process has begun the fall of the UConn basketball empire.

At least we still have Geno.

You don't know much about the history of UCONN BB. Hugh Greer, Fred Shabel and a number of other UCONN head BB coaches came and left Storrs with winning records. Greer won close to 300 games in about 15 seasons. He would easily have eclipsed that mark if he hadn't dropped dead unexpectedly in the early 1960's.

The most remarkable thing about the opening post by CTEagle is the barely restrained vitriol it contains.

Why the anger? What did Calhoun ever do besides win on his own terms? He turned out a stable of some of the classiest pros to represent the sport, raised millions for charity, and won three championships without cheating, lying, or taking any short cuts. That's the honest account of the man.

Jealousy makes enemies of small men, indeed.

I'll give Eagle the benefit of the doubt and assume this post was just sarcasm and a bit of whistling in the dark. Once.

Every UConn Men's Basketball coach from 1936 to the present, with the exception of Burr Carlson (1967-69) has had a winning record.

If you don't like the coach, the AD, the retired HoF Coach, then don't watch or follow
If you like Geno so much go take your knitting to the ladies games and watch the horrible state that NCAA women's BB is in now

What he did, I think, was come from Braintree, then go to school in Springfield and coach at Dedham High and then Northeastern. Then, he left MA and took Connecticut, not UMass or BC, to another level. It is petty jealousy, nothing more.

Ummmmm ....guys - by winning coach I don't mean having a winning record that's a goal struggling schools like BC aspire to. I'm talking about WINNING as in league and national championships. Apparently I perceive UConn basketball at a much higher level than you guys.
You can't tell me any of you will be happy if Ollie ends up with a record like the list of the coaches you just mentioned in your posts.
I actually like Ollie just think he's in over his head right now due to lack of experience. Uconn should've gone after someone like Shaka Smart when they could have now it might be too late. Now if any of you can get by the pain of the truth within this post, it might be fun to have a rational conversation.
please tell me where I'm wrong.

No he's not stupid. Just twisted. He loves to bait UConn fans. He loves to sound reasonable one moment and then make zingers. He gets pleasure by introducing things that UConn fans already are uncomfortable about. There has been debate about KO. But the debate has been among fans who want the best for UConn. He wants to stir up the debate to create discomfort only. He would love to see UConn crash and burn.

He is a real troll. Big difference between him and FriarJ, sean who loved the old BE and actually respected JC even as they love to parry with UConn fans.
