It's not the AAC it's not the new refs it's not ESPN trying to pump up the new members of a dismal conference it's much simpler than that. Yukon a powerhouse basketball school for nearly 2 decades should easily overcome all of that.
Why is it so hard for the bone yarders to understand the simple truth. A nationally acclaimed basketball program with a retiring Hall of Fame coach decides to hire a new coach with zero head-coaching experience. Look at the history of the NCAA - it has never worked. WM was simply bamboozled and manipulated by an egotistical Coach Calhoun who wouldn't be able to stomach a real coach coming in to take over his program and continuing to have success. So he fabricates an illusion that one of his ex-players who never coached a game in his life should be the heir apparent. Uconn could have hired virtually any coach in the NCAA barring a few, but instead settled just so the outgoing coach could stroke his own ego. He has ensured that he will be the only winning coach in Uconn history and in in the process has begun the fall of the UConn basketball empire.
At least we still have Geno.
