The Rise of Wbb - NY Times

For years, programs across the country that aren’t considered the game’s modern strongholds – Tennessee, Connecticut, Stanford, Notre Dame and now South Carolina – have been hustling mostly out of the mainstream spotlight, working to take advantage of recent developments in college athletics, namely name, image and likeness and the transfer portal.

This whole article … if I said what I really wanted to say …

To put it as nicely as I can, there have always been very talented players in the NCAAW sphere and it’s very disrespectful to all of those athletes and coaches to frame things as though the sport has only recently gotten interesting. Maybe the writer should examine the core reasons behind why the NCAAW and those athletes/coaches were (and frankly still are) so often neglected from mainstream sports media.

People as a whole aren't that interested in watching WCBB. I have been a huge fan for 30 plus years but I am the exception and so are you. People tuned in last year to watch CC because she brought something to the game that hasn't been seen before and the game doesn't have that this year.

I agree that talent has been around for a while but talent doesn't equal eyeballs tuning in. It will be real interesting to see if anyone can bring in the viewers this year like CC has the past couple years. I like watching Paige and Azzi and think they are great players, I think Juju is also very good but are they entertaining too? I hope so but I will be watching either way.
