Looks so cute all tucked away in its blanket of snow. Can’t wait for next season!

They should crack it open for the hockey team.
I wonder what the costs are to set up a rink there. This would be a fun thing to do once a season or so.

They could probably put the rink closer to the corner so two sides have seating.

Besides any rental cost for use of the Rent, the rink set-up cost over $300k back in 2011 iirc. They used it for high school games, college games and a Whalers/Bruin alumni game on top of an AHL game. UConn/High School games weren’t really expensive but I remember the other games being pricey.

Man I didn't realize how small a hockey ring is until this picture.

Yep, standard NHL dimensions are 200 ft long by 85 ft wide, and international is 200 x 100.

You could just about fit four NHL size rinks in the same footprint as a typical association football field (which the Rent is built to accommodate).

Skate a few goal line to blue line to goal line to red line to goal line to ... drills, and you will be amazed at how LARGE a hockey rink is. If you aren't puking at the end of it, that is. And if you dog it, the coach might not let you touch pucks for the rest of the practice.

Can I learn to ice skate first?
