While I thought the running game improved leaps and bounds yesterday. I think the read option was vastly poorly executed. It's usually simply read: the DE stays home you hand off, the DE crashes you keep. I don't know if the staff wanted Boyle to run or not, but the opportunities were there for him to keep for some positive yardage on many (mostly second half) runs that mccombs got none. I would like to see him keep the ball on many of those situations. If were going run those you might as well keep the option part in tact.

I'd rather see us line up in the pistol with single back looks. Having the RB one step ahead of the QB off to one side limits your options especially when you don't run the QB.

I like the pistol formation too. I remember back when Moorhead first started ala unc game at home we used it. It's the best of both worlds.
