That would reduce the travel time for many Texas recruits. Population must also be considered when comparing Texas with elsewhere. Texas is the second most populous state - about 27.65 million. But it doesn't take many smaller Northeastern states to equal that number. For instance NY coupled with NJ. In short, it is difficult to make valid conclusions about Texas vs other recruiting areas.
