Easy. They faced a team with more guts and heart. Point not taken.

I see your point with this post (even before it was spelled out later in the thread), but on some Missouri board somewhere, some Tigers fan posted the same thing and wasn't joking around.

Stupid fin' post. UConn was a joke this season. Drummond is a bust, DD, RS, NG and TO we're useless and AO was in a funk.

Mizzou lost a tough game, but had a great season and played hard every night.

Not enough grief given to the coach. Haith is a bum.

if you ever read any of my posts, and if you observed what has been said on this board, you would know I'm mocking the basketball experts around here that bash their team at every opportunity

So a freshman center joins the defending national champions and averages 10 points, 8 boards, just under 3 blocks but he is a bust?

You can't talk logic with these trolls. That's what makes this board frustrating to read right now.

I don't know. I don't think somebody with 168 posts is a troll, just confused. Or dumb. Or stupid. Or ignorant towards educating themselves on the subject of basketball.

Maybe not a troll in the traditional sense. But this guy chose to start posting after losses for a reason.

They're probably all of the above in your post.

If this was UConn's resume for this season (or any season):

30-5, 14-4 in the Big East, finished 2nd in the conference, won the BE Tournament, finished the regular season ranked #3 in the AP and Coaches polls, and earned a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament

...I can't see the people killing the current team giving this hypothetical team a pass by saying they merely "lost a tough game" after losing to a 15 seed in the first round.

Evidently this is what was in store for Drummond:

a) He follows Quinn's advice, spends the 2011-2012 academic year in HS pot grad, enters the NBA draft and is scorned by UConn fans for never suiting up for his state school.

b) He decides to spend the 2010-2011 season playing college hoops but gets seduced by the bluegrass, splits center duties with another AD, ends up in an environment that can cover up his flaws, gets drafted early and is vilified by UConn fans as a trairtor.

c) He decides to spend the 2010-2011 season playing college hoops for the school and coach he has followed since he could first put the ball in a basket, has a reasonable (but far from perfect) freshman season, the team's season as a whole pales in comparison to the prior one, leading some fans of the programs to criticize him mercilessly.

I wonder if the next time a kid is in his shoes he'll make the same choice?
