The one good thing that will come of this is that in three months we are going to find out once and for all what the true intentions for the Football program at UConn.
If we see them hire a fast rising coach that has interest from upper level G5 schools and we pay $2MM+ for the coach and increase the assistant coaches pool, then you know that UConn is serious about trying to make Football work long term.
If we get some re-tread coach or some coach who is skipping a couple of levels and we are paying him $1MM, and the assistant coaches pool stays the same, then we know UConn is just milking this for the short term and there is no intent to spend and build the program back up.
One way or the other, at least the last few of us die hards can find out where we are heading and set realistic expectations going forward. This is the final cross road and we'll see where UConn intends to go with the Football program.
