By not calling a timeout after we stopped them on first down (with about 2:45 left) they were able to run the clock down to where there was no difference between running or passing on second down (as the game clock would be below two minutes, therefore the two minute warning would be called regardless), allowing them to pass and basically end the game with the completion. If we called a timeout there, we would have had only to worry about the run and could have forced a punt before the two minute warning.
