Pass protection gave Sherriff lots of time all day. And even a couple of big running lanes for Newsome. Hats off to Knappe, Hopkins, Crozier, Levy and Peart, who all deserve to be singled out.

With the waythey played we should have put up more points but...not the day to complain.

The last 31 minutes were pretty darn good for everyone, just about.

Plenty to work on, but the nickel look, and the more open offense (maybe just more open because everyone was blocked well), really looked good after an initial slow start.

Happy to get this one.

I think they've been okay all year. Have had some bad moments for sure but they're competent overall.

BS still tucks and panics way too soon but today was great game for those guys for sure.

I thought they were much better today. There was a clean pocket and almost no pass pressure on virtually every pass play. And the blitz pick ups were nearly flawless. They were at a whole new level.

BS missed several deep throws and had the INT on the drive. BS isn't dynamic enough and the play calling is too conservative for the team to put much more than 24 without some defensive scores.

Overall a better game than others, hopefully builds confidence and they have a solid game against USF. D will have to be big again.

Agreed on all points. Also, because of various bad BS habits - he is not the easiest guy to block for in my opinion.

Not knowledgeable about these things but it looks like every lineman in the picture is wearing some sort of knee brace
Do they all have knee problems or are they being used as a stabilizing/precautionary measure?

Overwhelmingly the latter these days. Keep an eye on other games...

They played very well today. We are giving them a chance by spreading out our formations and the defense and not playing in a small box like we were stubbornly doing early on in the year.

Skip Holtz started the practice of lineman on both sides of the ball and LB's wearing "knee saver" braces when he became head coach at UConn. They have been wearing them ever since.

BS has to get more air under his deep throws.Time and time again he's over throwing his receivers by 5 yards.

The later. Most all linemen wear them. With all the pressure and force in the trenches they help prevent serious knee injuries.
