The offensive line was better than expected

For the most part there was time to pass. There was a decent pocket. I was mildly pleased with their play. There were mistakes and penalties all over the field but the OL looked organized and prepared.

Could the run blocking have been a little better? Sure, but overall a nice effort.

and then the game started....

Once again.... Whitmer running for his life. Corners and linebackers pinning their ears back waiting for the snap and no one could stop them and the QB couldn't look to his left and throw it over them except one time when it worked pretty good.
Running game...might as well have been non existent. First running play of the game for UConn....F-U-M-B-L-E!! Anybody thinking the offensive line was better than expected is fooling themselves because after watching Cochran and Whitmer getting flattened that many times it looked like last year all over again. I don't think it's the coaches, they just need to recruit players that can actually compete at this level.
