On the heels of Mt. St. Mary's to the MAAC and Chicago State being stood up by the MEAC, I present the latest next dominoes.
I believe the next move will be Howard to the CAA. This has already been reported by HBCU Gameday.
The A-SUN will add Queens (D2) to get to 12. This has been reported as well but all has been quiet since.
The America East will stay at 9. This is a non-move but I think Fairfield and Quinnipiac stay in the MAAC a little while longer.
Speaking of the MAAC, I think they will add Fairleigh Dickinson to get to 12, the league's goal.
The implosion of the MEAC is upon us.
The NEC strikes first by adding Delaware State and Morgan State to get to 11.
The SWAC adds Tennessee State and South Carolina State to get to 14.
The Big South completes the round-house kick by adding Norfolk State and NC Central to get back to 12.
The OVC responds to the loss of Tennessee State by adding UIndy (D2) to get back to 10.
These moves leave Chicago State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, and Coppin State as the three independents of Division 1, which would now include 363 members.
