I can see an argument for every one of them to be included, but it's different arguments for each one.

Most decent bands have enough solid material for one good to excellent album. It's very rare for any band to have two incredible albums, let alone three or more. Of that list, other than the Stones, Radiohead, U2 and arguably Queen (I really only thought they had two), all the other bands fall short of three, IMHO.

And among those four, three should've quit when they hit 50. I'm having a hard time thinking of a single band that put out a decent album after 40. Some former band members did great solo stuff after 50, but not in a band concept.

If a band remains true to its formula, it runs the risk of sounding tired and repetitive (a la Journey and AC/DC). Tom Petty somehow managed to skirt this, but it's rare. If a band changes direction, they run the risk of alienating their original fans (Radiohead with KidA) but may benefit by being "visionary". Some just don't age well (Doors). And let's face it, without corporate-owned radio, most wouldn't be seeing radio play today (I'm surprised Boston and ELO didn't make the cut).

Silly list.

I don't like the band, but Motley Crue is definitely not overrated. They never pretended to be anything other than what they were, entertainment.

I can get behind a number of bands on that list, but until you can list what you actually think is good, you're just writing an unimaginative list that can be titled "everything sucks". No value whatsoever in that list.

Guns N' Roses' first album is a masterpiece. After that, they went all radio friendly. Lol @ Metallica on that list. AC/DC and the Doors overrated?! Kiss most definitely sucks. Motley Crue has maybe 3 good songs, Shout At the Devil, Looks That Kill, and Too Young To Fall in Love.

This list could have included Van Halen, etc.

The Doors pretty much suck. Not sure anybody should mention those others. As for underrated bands, the Kinks should top that list.

I don’t get the list at all. the nearly talentless AC/DC next to the Brilliant U2? Bon Iver? Has anoybody even heard of them? It’s a completely moronic list. About 1/4 of those bands are lame hacks. The others are legends? The Stones? CCR? Seriously?

Agree with The Kinks as underrated. I also think of Rush as being underrated although many of their songs are not everyone's cup of tea. Bands like Journey. They were entertaining in their time but I don't think anyone is saying overhyping them. Have to agree with Green Day, I always change the dial. Red Hot Chili Peppers, I always crank it up.
