the more I get a really bad feeling about where this is going. FSU and Clemson may be willing to fall on their swords to keep us out. Do Duke, UNC, UVA etc. care enough? They didn't last time. Yes, FSU and Clemson may be bluffing, but can the ACC afford to take that chance?

I don't think FSU really gives a crap. They're leaving at the first chance regardless. Dunno about Clemson.

I'm fully prepared for disaster. Rumors in our favor have never materialized over the years. And on paper our pretty damn solid resume of what we bring to the table from athletics to tv market to academics has been overlooked or dismissed so far.

I don't think FSU really gives a crap, and they are looking at a $50MM exit fee which is insurmountable.

Yeah if the Big 12 is paying 21 million, that is not that much more than the 17 million from the ACC to justify the 5o million exit fee. With the B1G, reportedly they're going to be at 30 million in three years versus 17 million. That is one hell of a difference right there.

Seems like FSU would be a prime SEC candidate, no? They pay way more than the ACC.

Last time, it was BC, Miami and VT who voted us down. Coincidentally, those were the three former BE teams who defected virtually together. As we know, Gene did some serious politicking behind the scenes and may have won over their votes. Gene's gone now and the conference world has shifted significantly in one year's time. I think BC may see the benefit of stability we could bring, now that their new conference has itself, been raided. Three NO votes were enough to reject us last time. This time they'll need FOUR NO votes to reject us, provided Syracuse, Pitt and possibly ND can vote too. I view FSU, Clemson and possibly VT as being the biggest threats. However, who else are they going to bring in??? Louisville is only marginally better in FB...and that's just this year. There is no one out there who fits the profile of what the big time FB powers would like to bring in. So if they want to join with other powerhouses, they're going to have to leave anyway, because it's not going to happen in the new ACC.

FSU won't go to SEC....Big-12 more likely. Big-12 still pays more and is football centric....just what FSU wants
