UCONN ball, 4th and 2, 46 seconds left in the first half. P decides to go for it.

NC State has 4 down lineman, We have 7 on the line (one tight end on either side)

Whitmer goes back to pass, both of our tight ends release and run passing routes, NC State blitzes two LB's so they have 6 rushers to our 5 O-linemen. McCombs will pick up the 6th guy making it a 6 on 6, everyone should be blocked....

Problem is Kevin Friend double teams a tackle instead of picking up the DE standing to his right. So there are now two free rushers coming at McCombs and he can only block one, the result is a sack.

Sadly Ryan Griffin had about 15 feet on the guy covering him and was breaking toward the end zone. Whitmer saw him at the last second, was going to pass to him but ran out of time...Sack

just another example of why the 0-5 ratio is garbage right now. it could easily be 3-5, 3-4. fluke int vs umass and multiple crap shoots on O not whitmers fault sniffing the endzone. if we score anything else today and win. people would be looking at the ratio alot different.
