I hope this doesn’t raise @whaler11 ‘s interocular pressure any higher...

The Influence Of Search Firms In Men’s Basketball Hiring

>>Since 2010, 59 percent of Power-Six programs have used search firms while 31.6 percent of non-Power-Six programs have used search firms. In large part, we can assume the difference is mostly due to budgeting conflicts, as larger universities tend to have more financial flexibility than the smaller universities. The search firms researched charge between $20,000 to as much as $150,000 for a men’s basketball search, although the median price usually falls in the mid-five figure range.<<

LOL. They didn’t correct for the overall quality of the program.

Schools that use search firms generally have bigger budgets than schools that don’t.

Schools that have bigger budgets win more often.

If you don’t correct for that either you aren’t qualified to try to think so hard or you are a shill for wasting money on search firms.

POWERED BY LEARFIELD smells like option 2. Although I bet they think they actually proved something.

For a major CBB head coaching position, there are probably less than 50 viable candidates. If you need a search firm, what the heck has your AD been doing?

It makes sense if your program is in the 150 - 300 range.

This is referred to as "Cardiac Aresco" by professionals.

Everyone needs to just get in line and Walk Like an Aresco

Or else, contact a physician after 4 hours....

Legitimately, how many major coaching hires does the average athletic department make ?

Very, very few. It's just a way of offloading some of the admin burden of a very rare occurrence onto a group who does only that. From a logistical standpoint, it makes perfect sense.
