“Lobo, there for the first title as a player under coach Geno Auriemma, told ESPN: ‘He doesn't care what anyone's breaking point is. He pushes you to where he needs you and if you break before then, that's on you. There are a handful of people who transfer, and that's almost always why.’"

What a succinct testament to the grit, courage, and professionalism of the UConn women in basketball. Has there ever been anyone who has played to the end for Geno and CD and then publically complained about it or regretted it.

While this may not be totally unique to UConn, of all the others, none have had the continual public and private pressures of maintaing and becoming THE BEST, year after year.

To be fair on that 74% chance of success, UConn has entered the Tourney with only 1 loss 4 times and won in only half the cases, winning in 2000 and 2003, but losing the last two times in 2008 and 2011, so they gotta get their rate over 50% this year.

Charde Huston might be the closest.
Here is Geno speaking about Charde just before her senior night.
"Has she handled it the way she wanted to coming in? Probably not. Has she had the career that she wanted to have? Probably not. On a scale of 1 to 10 is it better than most kids that go to college? I would say, yeah. The inconsistency of it all is probably what would frustrate her the most.’’

Exactly whom I was thinking of. Probably the only one of any importance though.

Charde graduated from college, carved out a respectable professional career and survived the give and take with Geno and a few mean-spirited fans as well as anyone. Not too shabby for a kid who spent part of her formative years living out of a car in L.A. Wonder if I could have done all that?

Indeed, 1797 points later, Houston has certainly done very respectably in the WNBA, and in one of those surprising factoids, has a much higher all-star ppg average than DT, though it's for one game versus 5. Kelly Schumacher is another player who had some ups-and-downs inconsistency with UConn but had a strong WNBA career and is still going well in basketball abroad and maybe some beach volleyball.
