I’m very upset this morning. I’m going to talk about things scatter shot here:

We spend A LOT of money on our season tickets and donations, and they give us an unmitigated show. Coach has GOT to go. I know it’s unorthodox, but they need to do it NOW.

Our kids looked like zombies out there. I shudder to think what a non-performance like that will look like against a legit team like Michigan, Maryland or Louisville. it’s going to be ugly.

This program has cratered. It’s absolutely pancaked.

The entire night was just weird, it seemed like nothing in that stadium was in synch. I love the band, but even the halftime show had people not in the right positions, etc. The fact that they were off their game surprised me.

They ran out of programs – WTF. We were on time getting in and no programs???

They didn’t have enough promotional posters available at the end of the game – WTF.

Security: Let the people play with beach balls. It beats the show on the field.

Uniforms: I liked “new look” in the publicity photos, but now seeing it on the field I’m not so sure. It looks Conference USAish to me. Think we might have made a mistake there.

Field: Looked in great shape, nice job there.

Video Board: LOVED IT, great improvement.

Emily Noonan: my God she looked great on that new video board. She’s in mid-season form already. GREAT summer tan. How she hasn’t gotten a big-paying network job yet I don’t understand. Beautiful, articulate, obviously a fun/friendly personality – she’d be a great “get” for a network.

That’ll about do it.

Positive - Decent job power washing seats after years of neglect.
Negative - Coach, no team energy
Recommendation - Any Football suggestion is pointless until Coach P leaves
Recommendation off field - $2 beers in stadium up to kickoff. At least that would solve the late entry problem.

I really fear where this program is going – no, not even that: I fear what this program has become RIGHT NOW. Not to open up a can of worms, but at least with Edsall the kids always played hard. With him, regardless of the score, I always left the stadium thinking “ok, at least they tried their hardest”

The only positives on the team on the field are two solid (and potentially spectacular) Wide Receivers, a good Kicker and a good Punter. The field and stadium looked great.

I don't need to rehash the rest.

One other thing while I’m venting – I was utterly embarrassed the way some adults in my section (124) were talking when there WERE A LOT OF KIDS AROUND. If you can’t keep your language under control when you’re drinking, then maybe you shouldn’t be drinking.

Good point about nothing matters til the coach is canned.

Secondly, I fear for player safety. Football is always a high risk sport, but playing lifelessly and not knowing what to do or where to be increases those odds. Don't like seeing young kids getting mangled on the field due to coaching instability.

Positives:
- new widescreen jumbotron (no intrusive ads taking up space, but they should utilize all that space to show each team's timeouts remaining)
- no more DJ Dogshiite
- player intro with "Teenage Wasteland" was a nice touch
- staying with "Welcome to the Jungle" on 3rd down
- cleaner stadium with the power washing
- field looks in great shape
- solid job of branding the new logo at concession stands & throughout the stadium

Negatives:
- everything involving the team's performance & coaches. Everything. Beaten in the trenches by an FCS school is unacceptable.
- dead atmosphere, but you can hardly blame the fans for bailing early (and 30,000 announced attendance for an opener is a bad sign that fan apathy over CR and struggling program has set in)
