Man it's hard not watching Sportscenter and all the media on TV because you're afraid to see the "highlights" of the debacle you witnessed that day……….hasn't happened much over the years huh?

Hey that was a bad matchup from the tip, from the fact they are deep with guards who can harass our only ball handlers and their bigs (really one big) just has our bigs shivering whenever we play him now. Quite honestly as a fan I was hoping they would compete and hang in there to prove they were preparing for the tourneys which are coming. Didn't have to be a W just a solid showing. Did anyone actually expect it to be that bad down the stretch?

Did Rick Pitino out coach KO as KO admitted? Yeah sure he did, he's supposed to. Pretty sure JC had his way with a lot of young coaches who turned out to be pretty good too……but this isn't all about KO here as he has a staff. And a real good one! If anyone actually believes that this team wasn't prepared to play on all facets of the game, with KO leading, Glen Miller adjusting with Karl and Ricky talking D, then you're just not thinking clear. KO can't take the blame here and the players now need to take something away from the embarrassing product they walked on the floor with and man up - big boy pants time!! Don't you dare let your coach take this one on the chin for you after the effort everyone gave yesterday…….I have never seen a Husky team allow a team to "have that much fun" around them and walk away whimpily into the evening……the leader was the worst and Lord knows he runs the ship and he went down before the ship yesterday and that's an unfortunate thing at this point of his career…..I was stunned by this and almost hurt as a fan…….Bazz? Yep he gave up………is that on KO, Miller, Hobbs, Moore? NOPE……Hancock getting 3 open looks in a row with the game slipping towards down 40? on the staff? NOPE………Harrell laughing while dunking upside down and hanging on the rim then posing every 2 minutes / I'm surprised our bigs didn't high five him they were so impressed. Is this in the staff?? NOPE they all have pride, I think at least, and that stuff doesn't happen if you've played the game long enough. Someone has to step up and let them know, but instead the players did nothing of the sort but rode the storm out without a whimper…….embarrassing? Yeah a little but they probably feel, better feel, a lot worst than we do as they awake today!

Louisville is better player to player. Smith and Bazz a wash hurts right away because there aren't many teams that can match our PG…….the rest wasn't close. But the way it ended was all on effort of the players and I would have loved for KO to yank everyone at the 4 minute mark and send them to the locker room to get ready for the plane. All the walk-ons and others who don't play should have finished. That's the one mistake he made……they embarrassed him and the program, it was his turn!

Now, the day after…….I hope we read how po'd they are and how they're going to now get their Ten Toes in again and bleed Husky Blue…….they owe the staff and the fans Thursday an effort like never before, win or lose! Actually you know what, they owe each other that effort, Bazz owes the team an apology and a promise that he will be there for them the rest of the way whether he's making shots or not……

Let's see who wears the Big Pants Thursday, it will be interesting. And oh yeah that coach that's isn't very good as many of say, he'll have his on. They were good enough to beat the team they're playing twice but I'm sure if they lose this one he'll suck again!!

Very well said Mauconnfan. I really think Shabazz needs to hold a team meeting today and apologize for his behavior yesterday. He lost his cool yesterday and needs to be accountable for that. He's the team leader and his word gospel with these guys. There is still time to regroup and make a deep run in the tourney, but the team chemistry needs to get much better. I just want to see them have fun and compete and everything else will work itself out.

Not for nothing, but you're forgetting our game at Louisville not two years ago.

Yeah but that team had issues that this one shouldn't have, can't compare the chemistry of the 2 teams…….I hope!

I feel like the last four time we have played Louisville the games have played out the same way. In the first half we are barely holding on to keep the game respectable and then we get run out of the gym in the second half. I wasn't surprised that we were beat or even blown out. I hope this team doesn't have chemistry issues like two year ago but they look tense and there is a lot of bickering the past few games which reminds me of how they looked in 2012.

I agree it's similar and scary it could end that way. As we all say they aren't having any fun as of now. We'll see……….

Honestly, huskiesnyc, this is the first time since JC turned the corner with this program, where I actually feel that they could be done. It's a terrible feeling. If I were KO; and I thought that I could really re-energize this bunch, I would start with a team breakfast viewing of yesterday's debacle. Let them go and think about it or talk among each other all day; and, then, bring them back for a team viewing of all of the wonderful highlights from this season capped by the victory over Florida...and then ask them to choose what they wanted to be remembered for...to choose what THEY wanted to remember from this season(and, in the case of those who are leaving, from their careers). As mau said, it's Big Boy Pants Time! And I thought I read a post(by prankster) yesterday asking for the mojo masters(e.g. deepster etc.) to get cranking. Well get out the bag of tricks deep.............it's time!!!

Watch the replay of yesterday's skin-rending flogging then work our way back to the Florida win last year? Hell, as long as we're going backwards in time, why not just keep going until we show a game with Butler when we were a member of the Big East, and then we can pretend that yesterday's game was a nightmare that never happened and that we just had a bad dream that was induced by the hangover from the post NC3 celebration.

Make it the Kentucky game. I prefer that one.

I'll sign on for anything that morphs this team into the competitive, determined bunch of hoopsters(yeah I said "hoopsters"!) who don't take from anyone that we have watched for the better part of this season. What was really hard about yesterday is that Pitino is on that list with Calamari,Boeheim, and Krapascrewdookski that I can't stand losing to especially in their building. Yeah you can defend any of those coaches in terms of their skill at their job; BUT, they are a bunch of sanctimonious whiners who think the rest of us are there to kiss their a** on demand.

GO HUSKIES!!!

I'm not sure what to take away from that game, other than another shot of tequila. From the opening tip, they were mauled by a stronger, faster, and better team. The game got away early, and sometimes, that just happens. However, at no point during the game did the team settle down, regain its composure and work its way back into the game. That was the troubling part. No UConn team should ever lose by more than 30. That is not acceptable in any fashion. They got run wire to wire, and as it started getting worse, so did the shooting, the turnovers, the interior defense, etc. Did the team quit? I think that is probably too strong a statement (did look like it defensively, considering how many times we saw a late defender try and contest a wide-open 3), but they did not play smart at any point, more desperate to try and do anything (bad passes, driving into 3+ defenders for blocks or errant shots/turnovers, quick shots from three). Can this jolt a team that is starting to slide in the wrong direction? I hope so, because an -kicking like that should wake everyone up. I can only hope that the team is extremely pi$$ed off and looking to take out their anger on someone, anyone who is put in their way.

While I agree that Bazz may have not been himself yesterday, I don't agree he needs to apologize. He has put this team on his back and he is frustrated at no one else stepping up.
DD needs to apologize for being the shell of the player he should be, Boat should say he is sorry for some really stupid things he does at the worst times - but he has played hard.
The bigs should admit shame for after 30 games they still don't know how to box out or rebound.
KO has to know when to make adjustments - he allowed lville to stretch the zone and sat as the refs called fouls when his team breathed hard while lville slapped pushed and bodied all game.

In actuality no one should actually apologize but a come to Jesus is a must…….they need to have meeting without the coaches and let it all out……KO likes those meeting where everyone asks in a positive manner for their teammates to step up in certain ways…….hope they do something to get ready and wear UCONN proudly again!

A team meeting is a must and I fully expect Shabazz to call one. This team is going nowhere if they don't acknowledge and discuss what happened yesterday. This is on the players not the coaches. Losing is fine but playing with no pride is not ok. Not when it says UConn on the front of your jersey...
