[QUOTE="JordyG, post: 3510940, member: 6819"] People are very wary of contact. The lines outside of supermarkets are spaced for the most part by 6 feet. Most markets have lines on the floors spaced 6 feet apart. Most will allow only a certain amount of shoppers in at one time. However they're markets. It's nearly impossible to shop and remain 6 feet from everyone. Most people everywhere are masked in one way or another. People try as best they can to give passersby as wide a berth as possible, but keeping a 6 foot bubble around you and the world is, again, nearly impossible. People are still using the large public parks such as Central and Prospect parks while distancing themselves. But in places such as small local grocery stores (which we in NY call "Bodega's) and pharmacies it is impossible to practice any form of social distancing. Every hospital I pass is clogged with EMS vehicles of all types from all over the city. Our health service workers, our police officers, these are the real heroes in this city. I thought 9/11 showed the epitome of bravery. I was wrong. I see bravery redefined every day, every minute by these people. Two weeks ago I was on line at the market where everyone was giving the person in front of them a good 6 feet. Everyone except the millennial behind me who was (as usual) talking loudly on his cell, pacing back and forth, all about two feet behind me. I turned to him and asked if he could please remain 6 feet behind me and his response at first was "I'm going to do me". Then when I insisted he became angry and wanted to fight. Now, as I've said, I've already had the virus. For me this was a plea for the next guy he'd stand behind. Statistics clearly show that for the most part, under 40's are the viral incubators that are spreading this plague. Hopefully the next person will benefit from this idiot "doing me" from 6 feet away.
