And then the call for expansion will grow louder and the SEC and BIG 10 will demand it.

Likely 9 bids for the Big 12, 6 for the Big 10, and 5-6 for the freaking mountain west. Yet these are the conference rankings…

Unlikely

And while it sucks for the conference, putting having all this mediocrity in the tournament only helps UConn’s chances to repeat

The biggest loser tonight will be the Big East. It’s plausible our conference only gets 3.
Maybe this is a hot take but the only Big East teams deserving to be in the tournament are the top 3. Rest of the league was mediocre.

Don’t agree at all….we saw how talented St John’s is with their game against UConn, winning 6 in a row to finish the season and they lost many close games. Their KenPom ranking is 29 which would be a shame to leave a team out with that ranking. They would be a nightmare matchup for many teams.

Maybe with the exception of the Big 12 you could say that about all the other major conferences. ACC and Big Ten in particular were a steaming pile of garbage in the middle.

It would be a crime to keep ou the current St John’s iteration. And Seton Hall has a case though weaker. But I suspect Nova and PC are toast.

I wouldn‘t say mediocre, but I don’t think it’s some big injustice if we only 3 get in. Just very unlucky to have a bunch of teams right on the line in a year where there are tons of bid stealers.

I do think there could be way more surprises this year than normal with the final teams. I’d actually be impressed with anyone who gets the whole field correct this year.
